CHALLENGE ACCEPTED: PIVOT3 NAMED A CHALLENGER IN THE 2018 GARTNER MAGIC QUADRANT FOR HCI

Pivot3 has been recognized as a Challenger in the 2018 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Hyperconverged Infrastructure for the second time in a row since Gartner has released its HCI-only Magic Quadrant earlier this year.

HCI solutions are becoming more widely adopted and making inroads into broader use cases and deployments. According to the report, “During the past year, Gartner has witnessed increased consideration of HCI in business-critical enterprise applications. With this change, users have increased their scrutiny of support and application certification. At the same time, HCI vendors have expanded their strategy to embrace hybrid/multicloud deployments, as either backup targets or disaster recovery options, or as an alternative for on-premises infrastructure for unpredictable or cyclical resource requirements.”

We continue to move the needle in the MQ for HCI, which speaks to our Ability to Execute in this increasingly crowded market and is a clear statement to the market that our performance and dedication to building an intelligent and automated platform provides real value to our customers. We’ve also seen some incredible growth since the last Magic Quadrant including expanding our product portfolio and broadening our reach into APAC, LATAM and EMEA; increasing the number of deal contributions from partners by 275 percent; and landing some of our biggest deals to date for customers that need security, resilience and manageability at scale for multiple mixed workloads. It’s great that we continue to be the only smaller, privately-held company in the top half of the Quadrant as we compete with the far larger, mostly public HCI vendors.

In Q1-Q3 2018, we experienced more than 50-percent growth over the same period in 2017, with 86 percent of new bookings from large enterprises and a 95-percent increase in average deal size. We also saw increased demand for our hybrid cloud solutions, which represented more than 60 percent of new sales, as well as expansion of IoT use cases, particularly in Smart City initiatives.
