Citrix Appoints New Chief Privacy and Digital Risk Officer

Santa Clara, CA. – Dec. 20, 2017 – Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CTXS) today announced that Peter Lefkowitz has been named chief privacy and digital risk officer at Citrix. This role will go above and beyond the traditional chief privacy officer role to incorporate data strategy and security across products and cloud solutions. In this role, Lefkowitz will define a strategic risk management strategy for Citrix regarding product and service design, incident management, and corporate oversight, including validation of privacy, security and compliance controls as well as providing transparency to customers and partners.

Lefkowitz joins Citrix from GE Digital, where he served as senior data rights management counsel. In that role he supported GE’s digital business, including GE Digital’s Predix platform and internet-connected products and predictive analytics solutions. Peter served as GE’s chief privacy officer from 2013-2016. Prior to joining GE, he was vice president of privacy and security legal and chief privacy officer at Oracle Corporation.

“Peter’s background and expertise in privacy and digital transformation will help ensure the privacy and protection of our customers’ data on premise, in the cloud, in any stage of use, in any country and on any device. Adding Peter to the Citrix team advances our ability to innovate while securely delivering apps and data in today’s hybrid-, multi-cloud world,” said Tony Gomes, senior vice president and general counsel.

Peter is the incoming chairman of the board of The International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), the world’s largest global information privacy association. Peter has spoken extensively on privacy, information security, cloud services and the Internet of Things. He has given presentations on such topics for the Boston Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the IAPP, European Data Protection Days and TRUSTe. He is chair of the Bet Tzedek Pro Bono Legal Services advisory board at Jewish Family & Children’s Services of Greater Boston and a member of the board of trustees at Kehillath Israel in Brookline.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Arts in history, magna cum laude, from Yale College and a law degree from Harvard Law School.
